And that's a wrap! Wednesday night was the final week in my four-part Metamorphosis concert series. Thank you to all who tuned in to watch Storybook EP/Collapse Collide. Here are the highlights from this week's show. I had such a wonderful time performing these concerts throughout the past four weeks.

The end of the concert series means that it's time for the release of "Metamorphosis" THIS Monday! I am really excited to share this new music with you all. Stay tuned!

In The Press with Lady Indie

As a strong advocate for empowering women, I was so excited to be featured on Lady Indie this week. They are an independent music blog focused on supporting female musicians. Here is a preview of what they said about my single "Home":

"Consider letting this song seep into your subconscious if you’ve had a particularly rough weekend!"

Also, if you haven't gotten your copy of "Home" yet, you can download the song from iTunes here!

Yesterday, we spent the day filming the music video for my new single "Home." It was a great day on a beautiful set. With the help of Ann Haas (director), Austin Boylen (director of photography), Montana Walker (producer), and Cristina Taddonio (makeup/hair), these talented people really created something beautiful. I am excited to share it with you all soon. Stay tuned!

PoseManikin Rocking my Bolo Ties

PoseManikin, a designer/photographer/bolo believer, wrote this awesome post about some of my No Sass bolo ties that she sports.

Here is a preview of her commenting on one of the ties: "It's a lovely turquoise piece with a soft grey cord. I've worn this one several times and have been given many compliments. I really dig it!" You can read the full post here.

Also, be sure to check out the No Sass website, so you can start your own collection like PoseManikin!

Featured Artist on Amurco

I am really excited to be Amurco's featured artist right now.  We sat down for a fun Skype interview and here is a little bit of it.

Q. Mary, what have you been up to this year?

Well this year I have been busy working on new music. I moved back from New York to Nashville (Tennessee) about a year and a half ago. Since then I have been doing tons of co-writes, performing a lot of shows and mostly preparing for the release of these new songs.

Q. To someone who has never heard your music, how would you describe your sound?

I would describe my sounds as, well… I am a piano playing, looping, bold, singing female rock pop electronic artist. I often get compared with the storytelling and emotional writing of Joni Mitchell with the the pop influences of an Annie Lennox, the electronic vibe of an Imogen Heap and the rock sensibilities of Florence and the Machine. So if you were to fuse all of that together somewhere in there you would find what I do.

In the Press: Interview with AXS.com

AXS.com wrote this great article about "The Walking Dead" inspiration behind "Home." Here is a little sample of what we talked about:

“‘The Walking Dead’ is more about humans during an apocalypse than it is about zombies. It’s about the survival instinct and relationships,” she noted. “I started thinking about what would you consider home in this kind of a world. Home can’t be anything that can leave you or anything you would leave, so it’s definitely not a place and it’s definitely not things. I would even venture to say that home is not people because people are going to come and go. Home is more like a state of mind and a sense of self awareness.”

"Home" is coming!

I'm really excited to start sharing new music with you all!  The first in a series of singles is coming out October 1st, called "Home."  For me, home is not a place. It's not possessions.  It's not even people. Wherever you can survive you can call that home. Home is a state of mind. I can't wait for you to hear it!

The release of "Home" will be followed by a show at The Rutledge (Nashville) on October 7th.  Come celebrate with me and hang out afterward for an open mic night!

iMoveiLive Interview

I had the opportunity to interview with the Pennsylvania-based online magazine iMoveiLive to talk about my new single "Home" set to be released October 1st. Here's an example of some of the things we talked about:

iMoveiLive: Why did you select this song as your current single?

Mary Jennings: I will be releasing the majority of the songs as singles until the album comes out.  I think it is important to give each song it’s deserved spotlight.  The song “Home” was the first one that I worked on in this series.  It felt right for it to be the first one released.

Be sure to check out the full interview to learn more about my story behind "Home" here.

In the Press: Chatting with The Dutch Guy

I recently had an interview with The Dutch Guy, who asked me some truly unique and awesome questions. Way to keep a girl on her toes!

Here's a little sample:

The Dutch Guy (TDG): Can I borrow 20 bucks?

Mary Jennings (MJ): Sure! Will you use it to buy my new music?

TDG: Which aspect do you enjoy the most while working on new music?

MJ: All of it has elements that I enjoy. I would have to say that playing live is my favorite. Even if I am working on new material, it is helpful to get an audience’s reaction. It helps me find what needs to be tweaked along the way.
