Metamorphosis CD Release and Northeast Tour

I had the best time in my travels over the past few weeks.  The CD Release at Subculture was epic!  I love that venue so much.  Then I got to play in Philly, Hamden, CT, Staten Island, and Mahwah, NJ. It was such a blast.  Thanks to all of those that came out, bought cds and bolo ties.  It was a great experience and I look forward to more shows coming up!

Copenhagen - 4 Shows in 4 nights

Copenhagen was a whirlwind and an absolutely magical experience.  I was there 5 days/4 nights and had the opportunity to play 4 shows!  I performed at Cafe Retro, Blaggards Apotek, and 2 house concerts that were completely magical.  During the days, I wandered around taking canal tours, eating Danish food, making new friends, hanging with old friends, and visiting places like Tivoli and the Happiness Wall.  It was truly an amazing experience and I look so forward to more touring in Europe!

LOVE YOU BEST CONTEST WINNER

Rachel : ‪#‎loveyoubest‬ contest! My dad and Granny (his mom) standing at Ellis Island. At one time my Oma (his grandmother), fresh off the boat from Germany, stood in the same room. She was seeking and exploring a hopeful future here. She made a new home in Maryland and passed it on to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Love these two, and the ones from which they came. ‪#‎family‬ ‪#‎generations‬

Love You Best - New Single and CONTEST!!!

Since I am feeling "lovey" with all of the Valentine's stuff that is gushing out of every store right now, I thought I might be fun to have a contest!  Starting today, I am running the LOVE YOU BEST CONTEST.  All you have to do is share a picture of the person/place/pet/thing you "love best" on social media, tag me @jenningsmusic, and hashtag #loveyoubest. You can also email it to me or share it on my Facebook page here

On February 10th, my team and I will go through all of the pictures to sift out our favorites.  The winner of this contest will receive a very special care package for Valentine's Day with a cd of Love You Best, some goodies from my jewelry/bolo tie business No Sass Creations, and other treats as well!  We will also post the winner's (or winners' if we have a tie) pictures on the website.  I will also be posting a picture a day of the things that I love best starting with the subject of the song, my better half Dave!

"Home" and Chocolate Pound Cake on Lhyme.com

What a fun holiday feature!  I recently chatted with Lhyme.com, a music and food fusion site (two of my favorite things!) about my favorite dishes, what's extra good for singers to snack on, and the amazingness of chocolate pound cake.  Here's a snippet of their post!

I recently had a chance to chat with the lovely and talented Mary Jennings while having her fill me in on all things Mary Jennings as well as her go to noshes. The Bolo Tie Maker (yes…she sells Bolo Ties she makes as merch at her shows which is sooo creative ! ) is obsessed with Nutella , grain bread and pretzels. She is a junkie for French fries and a good fried chicken sandwich with all the trimmings. While in the studio working, Jennings’s go to foods must follow one important rule, no fork required.

LP Wears No Sass!

I was delighted this fall when LP accepted a couple of No Sass bolo ties as gifts. A huge fan of her music (and I mean HUGE!), I searched for just the right pieces for her and put together a fun little package, hoping that she would appreciate them as much as I appreciate her music.

You can imagine how even more delighted I was when she shared a picture on Instagram, sporting one of the bolos, and tagged me with some super sweet compliments!

This was her note with the photo:

Hey @jenningsmusic thank u so much for the bolo tie . It's awesome . Sorry for the delirious intoxicated grin but been wanting to get a shot of it and it was finally time. Hey and I loved the song u sent me!! Check out Mary's music and her designs at nosasscreations.com #coolpeeps

Thank you LP!!!

Lady Indie Interview

The wonderful Lady Indie blog took the time to interview me this week. We talked about the inspiration behind my new single "Metamorphosis" as well as my musical beginnings and plans for the future. Here is a little sample of what we talked about:

LADY INDIE: You say your music is your therapy. In what way have writing these songs changed you for the better?

MARY JENNINGS: I think that music has provided an outlet for me. I get asked a lot, “how does such a happy and nice person write such dark and melancholic material?” Now obviously not all of it is dark and melancholic but a lot of it is so I can understand the question. My feeling has always been that I write these songs to deal with anything going on in my life...
